A neighboring city to Amalfi is Positano. Positano is probably better known and more frequently visited, though I personally enjoyed Amalfi more. I recommend visiting Positano for a day by boat, but staying in Amalfi offers more to do. While Positano is also beautiful and picturesque, it is almost completely filled with boutique shops and stores with little else to do.

To give you an idea of what it’s like to drive here, this image shows the main road to and from Positano. I definitely recommend NOT driving and taking taxis and busses!
